Description
Betaine HCl is a supplement made from betaine and hydrochloric acid. It is used as a source of hydrochloric acid to increase stomach acid in people with low stomach acid.
Hydrochloric acid is important in both digestion and immunity and is mainly used as a treatment for digestive issues. This supplement includes a digestive enzyme called pepsin.
Low stomach acid has been linked to impaired absorption of several nutrients. These include iron, vitamin B12, magnesium, vitamin C, and calcium.
