Take 1 to 2 capsules twice a day.

Ingredients:

Chromium (polynicotinate), Copper, Garlic Extract, Guggul Lipids , Inositol Hexanicotinate (no flush niacin (vit B3), Policosanol Extract, Potassium Iodate, Selenium, Vanadyl Sulphate, Zinc Gluconate. Hypolipidemic activity of gugulipid has been widely described in traditional literature.

Guggul, a mixture of ketonic steroids from the gum oleoresin of Commiphora mukul, is an approved treatment of hyperlipidemia in India and has been a mainstay of Ayurvedic herbal approaches to preventing atherosclerosis. Clinical trials indicate that guggul is effective in the treatment of high TGs; in one trial, serum TGs fell by 30.3%.

In a study done  to evaluate hypolipidemic activity of guggul and atorvaststin monotherapy in comparison to their combination in rabbits, scientists concluded that the combination of atorvastatin and guggul was comparable to guggul on its own in improving lipid profiile. All treated groups had significant reduction in cholesterol, triglyceride, low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) in comparison to pre-treatment values and control group, and had significant increase in high-density lipoprotein (HDL) in comparison to pre-treatment values.

Inositol Hexanicotinate (niacin): Niacin is actually the granddaddy of cholesterol-lowering drugs. It was the first medication to lower cholesterol levels (1955), the first to reduce heart attacks (1984), and the first to lower long-term mortality rates (1986). But since 1987, when lovastatin (Mevacor) was the first statin drug marketed in the United States, niacin has fallen into disuse. One of the reasons for this may be the unpleasant side-effect of skin flushing that occurs with niacin. Inositol hexanicotinate is a special form of niacin that exerts the same benefits without the flushing, hence a very welcome addition to supplements that lower cholesterol.

Policosanol may decrease cholesterol production in the liver and increase the breakdown of LDL (low-density lipoprotein or “bad”) cholesterol. It might also help HDL (high-density lipoprotein or “good”) cholesterol work better. Policosanol also decreases the stickiness of cells in the blood known as platelets.
